Who we are

Advaitavidya is an organization formed by a group of people dedicated to the practice, contemplation and study of the Hindu tradition. We share a common interest, the preservation of Sanatana Dharma´s (Hinduism) primordial teachings. We follow our teacher Swami Satyananda Saraswati. We support his role in spreading the knowledge of the traditional scriptures and practices of Sanatana Dharma. We organize spiritual retreats, seminars, contemplation groups and kirtans.
During the last few years we have been studying the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali with commentaries of Vyasa, the Katha Upanishad, the Bhagavad Gita, Advaita Vedanta texts by Adi Shankara, Sanatsujatiya (part of the Mahabharata), texts of Sri Ramana Maharshi and Swami Muktananda, among others. We have organized seminars and teachings on different topics such as: “the mantra”, “Kundalini”, “Guru and disciple”, “Arunachala”…
The Sanskrit word advaita means “non-duality”; the word vidya, “knowledge” (understanding). Advaitavidya means “the knowledge of non-duality”, the knowledge of the Reality prior to name, form, time, space and causality, eternally existent in everything.
