Acharya: preceptor, teacher, spiritual guide. Technically, it is a person who lives according to the scriptures (shastra) of a particular tradition. It is “knowing or teaching the achara or rules of conduct”. The title applies especially to one who invests the student with the sacrificial thread and instructs one in the Vedas. see Guru.
Adhikarin: Eligible person; a qualified spiritual aspirant.
Advaita: Non-duality; “not-two” (a “not” and dvaita “dual”). Advaita Vedanta is the metaphysical system that expose the non-duality between the individual soul, Jiva and the absolute Brahman.
